Driven by a love for enhancing how clients could live in their homes, twenty five plus years ago Lisa started designing function first homes for her clients. Starting with the desired tasks in each room and designing and sourcing to align with what clients value, Lisa aims to source mostly within 100km of each project so that more of your dollars go into product and less into fuel. After 500+ projects from decorating a full floor, to working closely with architects to build a new home from the ground up, LFID brings alot of experience that is truly hard to quantify.

Building upon her previous decade plus years of business experience in lighting design ( travelling to and working with factories in China ), marketing and national sales, Lisa brings a rare combination of skill, knowledge and process to her interior design projects. Great lighting design is crucial to the end result so LFID suggests allocating 10% of the overall budget into most projects!

Speaking of budgets, LFID proudly keeps projects within budget by anticipating the surprises and upgrades at the very start and building line items for the inevitable, into her budgets.

Lisa’s great grandfather was a carpenter and she grew up with a full wood working studio. A kitchen table Lisa’s dad made a few decades ago, still shows the level of his craftsmanship, even though woodworking happened after he got home from his medical practice.

After Lisa’s dad passed away, she decided to curate and repurpose well made vintage furniture in honour of the passion and skills passed down, so LFID now has an in house woodworking/refinishing shop for the special finds we curate. While saving landfill and stretching dollars, having well made vintage on hand ( typically 200+ pieces ), allows customization ( for turn key clients and other designers ) with quicker turnarounds.

More than a decade ago, Lisa’s business coach twisted her arm to take Gallup’s CliftonStrengths® assessment ( not another one she said! ). Knowing how to identify natural strengths ( triple times that of non strengths ) and which complimentary strengths to collaborate with, was a game changer. Lisa quickly invested in Gallup’s coach training and leverages the work she has done with over 5000+ profiles ( mostly in the furniture and interior design world ) when pulling together perfect fit complementary teams for LFID design projects.
